What does an event planner do?

We are big believers in the importance of networking and although we’ve been working in this industry, in the same City for over 13 years, we still continue to explain our services to many people who have no idea what an event planner actually does.

Event managers are essentially project managers. They are responsible for overseeing the many projects an event, festival, conference, ceremony, wedding, concert or convention requires. A few examples of these projects might include:

Vendor Management – Researching, selecting and liaising with required vendors throughout the event planning process.

Marketing – This involves studying the client/event brand, identifying its target, devising the marketing plan and overseeing the execution of each piece of the marketing plan.

On-site Coordination – After being involved in all aspects of the event, the on-site coordination is one of the most stressful, yet exciting pieces of the event. The event manager must be able manage and juggle all the moving pieces while also being available to troubleshoot any issues that might arise and require on-site decision making.
