There are many factors to consider when planning event, one important item many people overlook is looking at other events in the community. It may seem like a no brainer, but this is something that many organizations forget to do before setting their event date. While ensuring the planning team, venue, entertainment group, emcee and any other event stakeholders are all “OK” with your event date, you sometimes forget to take a look at what else is happening in your community. Be sure to check your local Chamber and Tourism online community calendars to see if there is any overlap with other, similar events. Not sure where to start?
